Description

Build a balloon rocket to explore air pressure and motion, using a straw and string, encouraging kids to investigate forces and propulsion.

Details

1. Thread a long string through a straw and tie it tightly between two chairs.
2. Inflate a balloon without tying it and tape it to the straw.
3. Release the balloon and watch it zoom along the string.
4. Measure how far it travels.
5. Try different balloon sizes and observe changes.
6. Discuss how air escaping the balloon creates motion.
