Description
This activity explores sound production by creating shakers with different materials. It helps toddlers understand how vibrations create sounds, fostering auditory discrimination and curiosity about everyday objects.
Details
1. Gather 3–4 small, clear plastic containers with lids (e.g., empty spice jars).
2. Fill each container with a different material (e.g., rice, small bells, dried beans).
3. Securely close the lids to ensure safety.
4. Let the child shake each container and listen to the different sounds.
5. Encourage the child to compare the sounds and guess what’s inside each shaker.
6. Discuss which shaker is loudest or softest and why different materials make different sounds.
